Amsoil MTF, at Dealer Cost, is only $8.10 / quart.
Try it ... you won't be disappointed.

If this doesn't work out, I will try Amsoil fluid. That's definitely cheaper than GM product.

If its heavy duty then it must be thicker right? Would that not mean it is harder for the tranny to operate due to the thickness of the oil, and would it not result in some loss of power and/or lower gas mileage?

hey, would the Friction Modified Syncrhomesh be the same price at all GM dealers? or do dealerships sell the products on their own markup?
cuz I'll probaly hit up a Chevy dealer near Woodbine Centre since i think thas the closest GM dealer...
but yea, Nova_dust, if you can keep us posted on whether it actually reduces grinding that'd be great!
oh, and i checked my tranny fluid, it had like some metal pieces, tiny ones, when i do my tranny fluid change, should i do a tranny flush? or would draining it and puttin in the new tranny fluid be enough?

The fluid was changed yesterday. My clutch/brake fluid was pretty much black...
I did feel so sort of relief in gear change, but it has only been less than 50km. Next time, I will try full synthetic product since GM is only semi synthetic.

After 100+ km of driving, I did notice some shifting difference. But, I was using Kaaz fluid (so I was told) and it is a 80w-90 fluid versus the semi-synthetic. Maybe the fluid was too thick until you really warm up the car?
But at any rate, I felt a difference. Let's see how well it does after 500km, most people say after that, you really notice the difference.

noooo... don't use ATF with a manual tranny. they each have different properties in the oil, so only use MTF with a manual tranny.
if you want to try something other than Honda MTF, then you can try GM syncromesh and its pretty good, but a little pricey at 14.90/bottle... well, thats the friction modified one as well.
