Try it ... you won't be disappointed.

Indeed, I thought about Amsoil and Motul, but seems like GM stuff has lots of good review hence I jumped on the bandwagon.

If this doesn't work out, I will try Amsoil fluid. That's definitely cheaper than GM product.

I am using Kaaz fluid, which if I remember correctly, is 80w-90. That could be one of the reason why I grind at 3rd because the fluid is thick, who knows. But if I cant' make a smooth shift at 3rd even at 6500rpm, that's gonna suck.

hey, would the Friction Modified Syncrhomesh be the same price at all GM dealers? or do dealerships sell the products on their own markup?

cuz I'll probaly hit up a Chevy dealer near Woodbine Centre since i think thas the closest GM dealer...

but yea, Nova_dust, if you can keep us posted on whether it actually reduces grinding that'd be great!

oh, and i checked my tranny fluid, it had like some metal pieces, tiny ones, when i do my tranny fluid change, should i do a tranny flush? or would draining it and puttin in the new tranny fluid be enough?

The fluid was changed yesterday. My clutch/brake fluid was pretty much black...

I did feel so sort of relief in gear change, but it has only been less than 50km. Next time, I will try full synthetic product since GM is only semi synthetic.

After 100+ km of driving, I did notice some shifting difference. But, I was using Kaaz fluid (so I was told) and it is a 80w-90 fluid versus the semi-synthetic. Maybe the fluid was too thick until you really warm up the car?

But at any rate, I felt a difference. Let's see how well it does after 500km, most people say after that, you really notice the difference.

I'm not putting down what you're using, but why the 80w90 weight? Amsoil MTF is 5W30 ... big difference.

Cheers

So no one has tried this Royal Purple ATF fluid for their tranny? Doesnt the ATF stand for automatic transmission fluid? Even tho my tranny is manual would this stuff work with it?

noooo... don't use ATF with a manual tranny. they each have different properties in the oil, so only use MTF with a manual tranny.

if you want to try something other than Honda MTF, then you can try GM syncromesh and its pretty good, but a little pricey at 14.90/bottle... well, thats the friction modified one as well.

That's what Kaaz recommended when using their own LSD, that's what the mechanic used/told me so I could only go by his words.

Hey Charles what's the update with the GM Syncromesh? I have a slight 3rd gear grind and I was thinking of buying this stuff soon. I am pretty much going to go by your word here
