PENNZOILŪ SYNCHROMESH transmission fluid
I would love to give this fluid a try. Does anyone have any contact on this fluid? Any Affiliate that sells this?
Thanks |
I hear you can get it at Walmart.
|
Cool bro, that's a good start. Thanks
|
Went to one Walmart, doesn't have it. But I read it in one of the TCC archive that Pennzoil is the same as GM Synchromesh. Whichever one I can buy I will use.
|
^ yup...
Same as the AC delco one aswell. GM dealership should sell it, as the one in barrie does. Price i think is around 8-10 a litre. |

The AC Delco bottle is the same thing as the GM synchromesh, just the AC label put on the GM label. Bought 3 bottles last week and seen it. Decent fluid, didn't fix my grind tho lol |
GM synchromesh with the friction additive or whatever fixed my nasty first to second grind. A little expensive but its cheaper than a tranny. I paid $17 a litre.
|
I went to GM 2 weeks ago and got 3L of their syncromesh tranny fluid, which turned out to be made by AC DELCO. It cost me a little over $32.
I looked everywhere for the pennzoil stuff because it's the same thing and supposedly a little cheaper but I couldn't find it anywhere. It has completely covered up the 3rd and slight 5th gear grind I had in my B series tranny after about a day of driving. I'm going to keep using this stuff and hopefully the grind doesn't come back any time soon. (it wasn't the friction modified stuff) |
PENNZOILŪ SYNCHROMESH, GM synchromesh, Texaco syncromesh, as well as AC Delco syncromesh. are all the same. Here's agood read on the subject.

I went to the GM dealer at Woodbine/7 (their shop closes at 9pm) and bought the Synchromesh Friction Modified, 3 bottles of 1 liter bottle and each bottle is like 14.99. Total came out to 50 something.
Dude was like, you buying this for a Honda? He said the only customers that come in and buy this fluid are Honda guys. I will do a tranny flush+filter and also clutch fluid change next week. See how that goes. |

Ya, whatever we did on the highway, no one needs to know haha. You are missing a corner light? |
As for the fluid, this is formulated for GM truck transmission, some heavy duty stuff and apparently, it can fix/hide some grinding issues.

If its heavy duty then it must be thicker right? Would that not mean it is harder for the tranny to operate due to the thickness of the oil, and would it not result in some loss of power and/or lower gas mileage?

yeah i'm missing a corner light, it still flashes but the running light burnt out. |
Amsoil MTF, at Dealer Cost, is only $8.10 / quart.
Try it ... you won't be disappointed. Cheers pickme: Cam |
