oil change noob questions

Hey guys, I have a couple of questions.

How tight do you torque the drain bolt?

Should the drain bolt ever be changed? I heard the washer must be changed with every oil change, is this true?

Thanks

if its not leaking, dont replace it.

Usually i visually inspect the washer, if it looks fine, re-use it.

It's 18 ft lbs I believe. But usually snug is good enough. I just snug it with my fingers then give it about 1/8th of a turn so its tight, but not over tight.

I've seen people strip the threads from over-tightening the pan is aluminum!
