new lowered suspension kit?

hey i own 94 civic dx, and when i bought the car it had cut shocks, well one the front left one broke so my mechanic recommended that i replace all 4 shocks and struts, so i dont put new shocks on old struts. So i was wondering if anyone can recommend a good lowered suspension kit that includes 4 shocks and struts, im looking in the 1200 dollar and under range, maybe something by eibach, im pretty new at this kinda **** so i wanted someone elses opinion, thanks.

I assume you meant cut springs, not cut shocks. Shocks and struts control the damping and do not affect ride height. Civics from the year of 88-00 used a coil over shock system and 01- up civics use a MacPherson strut system.

$1200 is more than a decent budget for a good street suspension system for your 94. For around $900 you can buy some OMNIpower coilovers and for even cheaper than that you can purchase a tokico handling kit which gets you 5 way adjustable shocks with matched springs. Both of thse kits perform adequately for daily driving as I'm sure many of the members on this board can attest to.

Before modifying your suspension you should ask yourself what you are going to do with your car (daily driver, autox etc) and then you can do some research into what components you want or need. I say this since Civics are so popular there is an endless amount of aftermarket suspension parts available, including alot of garbage out there.

So as I said, do some research and read some reviews and you will be happier with your end result maybe even saving money along the way. Good luck.

The Koni kit might be exactly what you are looking for. It's a very basic, non-adjustable kit, but still very high quality.

you gotta think about other parts aswell..i would change all the balljoints as these things wear faster with a lowered car and check to see if all your bushings are fine

i bought the koni rsk kit brand new for 620 bucks bro. i'm thinking about selling it soon though because i'm going coilovers after the winter. they've only been on the car since june but so far i think it's a great kit and you'll be very happy with them. especially with 3 perches so you can drop it up to 1.75 during summer and raise it back to iuno, 1 or 1.25 inch for winter. on the highest setting you'll be fine for winter. if i were just to get a kit to lower another car, the koni kit would be the way to go. nice and cheap and good quality parts. . so you can save yourself about 500 bucks and go buy the koni kit. if you really want to spend 1200 just fork out a little more and get quality coilovers. your budget is right in the middle imo. if you do get coilovers, get some with adjustability so if the roads are bad you can soften them up.
