Hey, my question is in regards to lowering my 01 civic. I was wondering if no name generic brand of springs ( spring only not coil-overs or full suspension set) or nuspeed springs would be better or are they the same in terms of ride quality.... The neuspeed are obviously more $ and if its the same / vry similar quality im considering the no name. Thx in advance!

Springs will need to work with your shocks to achieve a ride comfort. Lowering springs will settle after a period of time but in reality, the OEM shocks will travel less vertically because the car is lowered, which makes it constantly stay in the "compressed" or "semi-compressed" position. Over time (not right away, could be a long period of time), it will lose its rebound ability and you will basically be ridding on springs which will make your car bounce forever when you go over a bump.

Then if you have a poor quality lowering spring, the spring itself will lose its rebound ability faster than the OEM shock and the end result is you will be ridding on your shock most of the time, which will result in an extremely stiff ride when you go over bumps and whatnot.

If you just want lowering springs, get the brand name ones. Neuspeed, Eibach or H&R will be fine.
