Exclamation motor info

i've just recently done a motor swap into my 94 hatch... now the problem is that i wanna start to change parts and if something breaks i need to know what it came out of so i know what to buy....i was told the code on it was a B16 P now if anybody can tell me what that means exactly it would help out a lot....also its a SOHC Vtec if it helps......Another thing is i'm not getting a spark when trying to fire everything has power and connected any ideas to the problem are welcom......Thanks in advance

B16 P??

B16A probably.

B16's are DOHC Vtec motors.. I say you double check this engine code before anything else.

b16 is a DOHC vtec, find out what u go under the hood then get back to us

could it have be a D 16 and i just read it wrong??? make more sense?

Do you have a D16Z6 or D16Y8?
What year was the motor - or what car did it come from?

most likely a z6, makes more sense unless someone wants a lot more work neglible results.

now how can i find out exactly what it came from and year where on the motor will it say?

pop your hood and look at the block code

The block code is stampped on the front of the block - near where the tranny bolts to the motor. It will be Stamped "D16XX" and a serial number below it. It should be to the left of the exhaust manifold and just below the head.

thats where i got that from maybe my eyes were F****'d but i was sure as hell it was a B16 P i'll check again though

well it deff has to be the D16 then cause from the pic it looks identical .......now do you know where i could get a Vtec comp for it?????

First determine which motor you have for sure than put post in want to buy forum or look in the for sale forum. If it is a d16z6 then you need a P28 ECU.
