Lossing Air Conditioning Due To Swap.......B16A2
Hey Guys,
I have been told by my shop that when I convert to the b16A2 engine I am going to loss my 97 honda civic si air conditioning.
Is the B16A2 compatible with air conditioning and could you tell me reasons why I would loss my A/C??????
I never really asked the mechanic why I am lossing the A/C I just assumed it was because of the engine size and\or the compressor's location!!!!
Please help. I am supposed to be getting the car back on Thursday. You input is appreciated before then.
Thanks.

The same body style SiR comes with A/C and the same engine, so there is PLENTY of room!!

ya, the Si compressor will NOT work, but the SiR one will or any integra compressor will work for that matter
anyways, looking at about... ummm well price depends $200-400 for a compressor.

I'll bet he does..... and some sort of proof too...
the reason the mechanic is saying you'll lose it is they probably don't want to tackle the job of changing the compressor.....
bast thing to do is have the system evacuated and remove the compressor yourself .... then have them switch the engine and then get the sir pump and reinstall yourself....
