i got a 95 civic 1.5 litre and am having a problem with a loss of coolant. the car does not over heat it doe not burn oil there is no coolant in the oil, no blue smoke, no visible leaks from the outside of the headgasket, and passes a pressure test just fine. this problem gots me soo lost. does anyone have any idea what this could be. i have replaced the rad, and checked all hoses. can anyone point me in any direction.

How much coolant have you been using...... check inside the car for a heater core leak....

its the same with my car man its gone down VERY little in the last 4 weeks.. but i have been watching it.. im guessing it does get used up

coolant only goes 2 places...internal leak or external leak...it just doesnt get "used up" put a piece of cardboard under the car overnight and check it in the morning, if thats clean there is a good chance its getting burned in the combustion chamber. when the leak is small you wont see much of any white smoke or mixing in the oil, only when it gets bad u begin to see that happen

also when do you exactly check too see if the coolant is okay or not and how do you check it?
if you do it after the car is shut off then thats why its low.
and if your looking at the coolant bottle to see if there is enough or not then your looking at the wrong thing again.

so thats why it seems like it went down.

The car is filled while running and i usually fill the bottle as well. i drive about 100 km and then i shut the car off and when it cools i check the lkevel while its cold and it will always take about 400-500 ml

sounds like you have a head gasket leak.

the level in the bottle will go down when cold as the coolant is sucked into the radiator as the system cools. this is why its important for the level in the overflow to be correct so you dont introduce air into the system...so if it continually goes down that much all the time its going somewhere

pop out your spark plugs, usually the tips should be a brown colour and white colouration is a sign of coolant burning... not sure how much, but its more or less an indication. mine i thought was burning coolant for a while and my plugs were a little white coloured, but eventually it stopped so far and my coolant levels haven't dropped in a while.

so your car just stopped burning coolant on its own.
i pulled out the plugs and they werent white at all. i have checked for all signs of a headgasket leak and havent found any, i am soo confused.

My car was having the same problem, not overheating or burning coolant/oil but the coolant was disappearing. I had coolant puddling on the floor of my car. Turned out that the heater core lines were pinched, the 2 coolant hoses were fine but once i removed them to get the heater core out, i could see that the one was out-of-round big time....fixed that, cleaned the coolant out of my car like 5 times and i've never had disappearing coolant since.
I would also thoroughly check out the small coolant line that run sfrom the coolant neck to the idle air control valve on the back of the intake manifold, the one that goes from the idle air control valve to the fast idle thermo valve on the bottom of the throttle body and the one that goes from the fitv to the intake manifold.
Also, check to see if there's any coolant on the lower timing belt cover, when my water pump went it was leaving a stain on the timing belt cover.

well, mine are still a little white, but my coolant hasn't been going anywhere... but i did replace most of the clamps and to be sure and well, it did stop after then, so i could of been leaking a little somewhere.
