Loosing Power....

Well i use to kill my friends [91 civic hb zc dohc] by atleast 3 cars and recently i ran over and scraped my centerpipe causing a small hole on my centerpipe i know he hasnt done anything on his car lately. Yesterday he was keeping up with me basically head to head on 1st and 2nd gear. And it feels like my car is getting slower. And i think the cause of this lost of hp is the centerpipe. my car sounds so loud because of the centerpipe hole. sounds pretty cool and deep actually.

I also raised up the car by a quarter inch and did a recent oil change... i want more power .... lol ... does anyone have any suggestion ?? ... i was planning to get the centerpipe fixed sometime this week .. was planning to get a new straight pipping straight from headers does anyone have any better suggestion ? and where i can get this done for cheap thnx

most likely the hole is causing a lack of back pressure... back pressure helps with low and mid end torque but it hurts top end power.... at the same time a lack of back pressure helps high end torque but hurts low and mid end power....

I'd suggest getting it fixed ...you already plan on doing that so hey problem solved...

the othger possibility is your friend has sneaked some go fast parts under his hood ....and is playing with you

If you raise the car up you increase the drag on it right? so in essence it'll slow you down a bit, i donno if enough to have your friend keep up with you, check his car too like jay said!! lol

the drag and ride height I doubt are going to affect the car's speed by anything noticable.... drag and aerodynamics are the last thing to be tuned on most race cars....

if anything it would be up in 3rd or 4th gear when the car is moving fast the aerodynamics come into play... i doubt it would do anything in first and second gear

take out your interior.... if you take it all out you can shed a solid 40-50 lbs.... and if you start tearing up the sound deadening on the floor your exhaust will sound louder inside... free muffler upgrade too

other things would be removing you air filter... your cat.... finding lightweight rims

the hole will **** up the flow of your exhaust and cause turbulance which will kill flow and hp.....make yoru car faster...lot's of routes liek nitrious superchager turbocharger or jsut all motor liek i/h/e cams...I'd say go for i/h/e then get a good clutch and lighten flywheel then get some good tires then go from there with cams pistons yada yada what car and motor do you have for staters....
