Kyb Gr-2

it's not that at all. I can chop 3 inches off stock springs and be dumped for free. that's not the point. the point is to know that a shock has limited stroke, and the suspension as a whole has limited travel... prolly around 6 inches (with the shock/spring removed). so you can't expect to take out 3 inches of that travel and still have a proper suspension. it just doesn't happen. say you mark the stock suspension at rest, and make that point 0. from point 0, through a daily drive, you'll prolly go to -2 and +2 inches. so now you whack 3 inches from there, now your point 0 is three inches lower.... so where the hell you gonna find -2 and +2 from there???? NOWHERE that's where.... there just isn't enough stroke at that point. it's retarded and shouldn't be done. it's not impossible, but your car will drive like the pile of **** that it is.

To sum it up...
The 2 or 3 inch drop that you want will destroy your 14 year old stock suspension in no time and a GR2 probably almost as fast. A $700 set of Koni Yellows might handle that drop though.
If you really want the GR2's, then a conservative drop of 1-1.5 inches from a quality spring like Tein/H&R/Eibach would be better.
If money is an issue, try finding some used springs and shocks.
