Lowering on KYB GR2

Hi everyone,

I'm planning on dropping my car 1.6/1.8. Do you believe KYB GR2's will blow on this type of drop? I heard many have blown there shocks, but most were dropped over 2 inches...

What do you suggest? The AGX's are like $150 more.

Thanks

gr2s are kinda crap, but they were the best thing made for a saturn - so my saturn was dropped on Eibach springs with no problems. and SPS used GR2s (revalved) on their race saturns. so it's will hold up depending on your driving, but for the extra $150, I'd get the better shocks.

Ive had GR2's twice in the past. The first time they held up well with a 2" drop, but the second time I had one leak with H&R sports.

Theyre a good shock, for a mile drop (eibachs, tein H) but for over 1.5" I dont think theyd be the best option. I think on a budget, the tokico HP or better yet skunk 2 or eibach shocks would work better. Tokico HP I would rate slightly better at handling drops than the gr2.

Ive got AGX's on my eg coupe....with H&R race springs. Its lowered pretty good. There a pretty decent shock. If you got the extra cash....go for Koni's.

I've had GR2's with H&R Sports for 4 years and the rears have recently gotten a bit mushy. I bought the setup used off another member here who was running it for 2-3 years previously.

They damp the ride adequately and they have lasted longer than I expected with my 1.75/1.5 drop. I think I'm heading back to stock rather than staying low due to my new parking situation.
