Knocking noise while turning! Please read!
Hey people any advice would be greatly appreciated. Anyhow, I have a 96 si, and when I turn I sometimes hear a knocking noise that seems to be coming from the middle underside of the car. At first I thought it was the cv joints. But I hear when the cv joints are damaged they click as opposed to knock. Has anyone ever heard this or had this particular problem with thier civic?

Pretty sure its the actually CV joint. If its making that knocking\clicking sound specifically when turning one direction then its more then likely the CV Joint. Just get a new one its about $100 or so for a refurbished one

Yes I did today, It is the driveshafts. The driveshafts are the,
shafts that have the cv joints attached to it, right? I found out a place that sells rebuilt ones for $85.00 each which is not bad when honda is asking 200.00 each. And thats the aftermarket
ones!

yes it is the rubber thats ripped.. and therefore metal is rubbing against metal causing the noise... if you go aftermarket i wish you the best with those parts... i hope they last you.... good luck... let me know if you need them installed..
