intake noise help

Hey all

I just put in an OBX intake and everything is working great except that when I press the gas about 1/3 of the way in....I'm guessing about 3000RPM(don't have a tach so it's a guess) I get a CONSTANT chirping/whistling sound until I hammer it or let up. I don't know what it is. when I hammer on the pedal I get a really nice bassy sound but I'm not liking the chirp.
any help would be apreciated
Thanks!

its just air whistling past your throttle plate which is at mid-position then.. kind of like a whistle.. except now you can hear it because your stock intake with its resonator and thick filter element is gone.

I think it might have something to do with the fact that the throttle body is positioned vertically rather than horizontal (like a B series or even a D16 Y8). maybe the air flow or something is different because of the 90 degree bend...I'm not really sure though.

Mine does it too...nice and loud...and yes, i hate it. I've gotten pretty used to it by now though.

cool, I guess I'll just get used to it I guess...I thought something might be wrong cuz I've had CAI's on other cars and have never had a whistle THAT loud. it almost sounds like I have a belt loose.

No it's normal and like the others said...Get used to it...The one in the family's 98 Accord (stick on intake to plastic tube) has it and once I open the passenger window its fricking loud and annoying...I am still getting used to it though but closing the window helps but then again I still can hear a whine...

LOL

just shift gears when you hear the chirp and pretend you have a BOV!
