Idle problems??

I noticed today several times, as I was pulling out of the garage (in reverse) and the engine idle speed went up to like 1500 rpm. What's up with that? Does it idle higher in reverse than in any other gear? (I don't know if this is a stupid question or not, if so, )
I had my foot off the gas, just pressing in clutch, and i noticed this. Afterwards, when I got off the driveway, and popped it into 1st., it went back down to the regular idle speed of about 800 rpm.

Anyone know whats up with this??

Matt

idle is idle..
check and see if the throttle cable is sticking at all....
if it is ya can try taking a little oil and pouring it down the cable housing/shroud (cheap man's way..)

it's probably cuz your engine was cold. my car revs up to 1500 when i back out of my driveway too. but after driving around for a bit it drops back down to the normal 800 range.

Thats what I was thinking, especially considering the weather lately.

oil fix actually Honda recommended routine maintenence on the GoldWinds for throttle/clutch cables..

weird thing too is that some of the timing belts were interchangeable also..
