Help

ok, after work today i turn on my car to head home, once i turned it on, i had to brush my car off since it snowed like a retard all dam day, so anyways, while im outside of the car brushing it off, i hear an extremely loud whistling sound, kindof like a old fashion tea kettle, i thought my engine would explode or some **** like that, i just restarted my car and it went away
but does anyone know what the **** that is incase it returns?

I got the same problem in my dads jeep.
It's the fan belt.
When it's cold outside, there is lots of strain on it...and for some reason, if I turn my heater off...the noise disappears!
