Fried electrical smell + sound after changing dizzy o-ring
Hey guys,
I changed my distributor o-ring and when I put it back, I had to shift the teeth a little bit to get it to slide back into the engine. I lined it up properly and torqued everything down.
Crossed my fingers and started the engine... Started right away but was immediately followed by a 'poof'. I quickly turned off the engine (Not running for more then 3-4 sec), walked out front and saw some smoke --- smelled like I popped something electrical. "****" I thought.
Started the engine again... Started up fine and even revved fine. Turned off, some smoke was still around/coming out from the engine area (near the spark plugs) but couldn't pin point the source. Finally I took it for a boot after confirming everything was plugged in fine... Drove it for 40 minutes with no problem at all and no oil leaks... (No smoke either)
??? Any idea what the hell I might have broken? Everything seems fine. Maybe some misfire? Or left over brake cleaner on something electrical?
