Flywheel Question

What is lightening the flywheel? And what does it do?

They take metal of off it, not too much so it becomes fragile or more liable to break, but lighten it up a bit by taking off mass.

It helps the engines ability to rev/slow faster. Think of a motor turning a big heavy wheel opposed to a small light bike tire, its so much easier to speed up and slow back down the bike tire.

does lots....mainly less rotating mass = much less weight to move the flywheel=better use of your horse power.....I've had this mod on my BB1 and its great....

GOOD MOD....but you might as well do the Clutch as well while your in there..........oh ya maybe a LSD as well...

So you can lighten your flywheel, pressure plate at the same time?

How much would that roughly run? I saw Leitner had the flywheel for $100 or something. How about labor?
