failed e-test

hey guys i failed my e-test twice after swaping a sohc zc in my car, here are my results...

first time

HC limit=75
reading=11

CO limit=.42
reading=.02

NO limit=864
reading=920

I then retarded my timming and went again, this time i failed nox even worse

NO limit=864
reading=1105

i have one engine code and thats the speed sensor, i was just reading through my manual and noticed that the speed sensor has somthing to do with the egr valve. Do you guys think that would be the problem... and any other tricks for passing emissions would be helpful too thanks.

nox means lean burn high combustion temps

what ecu are you running...everythign else is whiin limit

I would say set your timing to spec run regular fuel put a new o2 sensor in and cat...each about 100 bux tops

that should do it

I was not aware of d series having egr

It could just be your cat since all your other readings seem fine. I recently went through this, I was reading 8XX NO and simply replaced the cat and it droped to like 150-ish. I didn't think it would be the cat, since I had replaced the headgasket on the engine and was assuming the worst... But give it a try.

i know this is a bit of a longshot but me and many of my friends have used this stuff called "guaranteed to pass" on our beater cars that failed by huge amounts.
you just pour it into your gas and use the full tank.

as long as the car does not have any serious modifications it has passed every single time. worth a try for 20 bucks

I believe those "guaranteed to pass" is gasoline antifreezed. Pour those in and run it.

run high octane,(use stp fuel injector cleaner) take out the air filter, new plugs, and fuel filter.

then try the test.

as long as 02 and catalytic are new.

try driving your car on the high with the injectors cleaner and high octane gas to clean it out.
