E-test failed: High HC's under load

What can be the cuase of this??

plugs?
timing?
pcv valve?

car is 1990 CRX Si about 220,000 km

all of the above

there is no simple answer, you just have to start from fuel control to spark control.

try setting your timining to stock, putting in new plugs and wires, cleaning up your distributor cap and rotor. Then, test it again. Also, be sure you are using the right fuel - 87 octane or whatever.

higher octane gas wont help in this case i guess....thats more of an NO fix!?!

if you wanan trick teh tester...off set your dizzy timing....play with it retard it a bit, see where that gets you

nah, it cant be that bad...it was only over by like 20 points on that one part of the test

retarding the timing would be counter-productive... he'd wanna advance it for a hotter burn.

going for the test in two days....

just changed pcv valve, spark plugs, cleaned rotor/cap....timing to stock

hope that works

its like a blue colour with a chrome exaust with duel outlets.......yup i tested it, i got in trouble from my boss cuz i dident want to double prob it... lol

haha, so did you double probe it?!?!

that exhaust is ****, i cant wait to get that crap off there i would rather have stock exhaust

oh the joys of cleaning up others messes

ya, i had to my boss made me stop the test and hook it all up properly, nice exaust though minus the muffler, what is it like 2.5 stainless?

well good to now that my work actually fixed the emissions problem

yeah its 2.5" stainless w/ high flow cat....but it's all going...what an annoying rattle eh?? lol
