Exhaust Tooo Loud... (Searched..Plz Help)

i m currently running a Grand prix muffler its fully stock baffled and everything but it is still wayy too loud for my car...

I have gone through an OBX twin loop, and a bunch of other OEM exhaust from many different cars with larger displacemnt...

I have searched about the the Apexi WS and RS*R

but here is my problem, i dont want to put down the big coin for these if they do not work for my setup...

I have 2.5 all the way back, from a vibrant header, high flow cat..

the twin loop might have been the queitest but still very loud...

i was also suggested that maybe i get a muffler and put a silencer on it? would this help or just a ricer sound...

any other suggestions?

what motor are you running? have you tried the itr setup? it sounds to me like you're very picky so the only recommendation i have for you is just to run a stock system. there's no such thing as a quiet exhaust when you go bigger on everything. from header to cat to piping. that's how it is man, you either deal with it or replace it with stock. run stock mid pip and a stock exhaust with an e cutout so whenever you really need to get on it just let it open! i've seen this work well on turbo cars but not quite sure how it works with NA cars. i'm guessing it's like running open header.

with a high flow cat and a 2.5 inch pipe with no resonator what else do you expect?
go with stock setup i recommend itr.

make sure u keep resonator and cat if you dont want the problems of a loud exhaust.

hahaha, loud...

i am running a 2.5" straight pipe with 1 mandrel bend in it... and an rs*r gt2 muffler... no resonator and no cat... ****er sounds pretty throaty coming down the street. if you pop vtec, it just starts screaming.

and just so you know, rs*rs are loud, but i guess it depends on which muffler you get.

so i assume his motor is not stock....and stock itr exhaust will only restrict power....and there are not many good aftermarket exhaust systems that's quiet...i suggest JASMA approved exhaust systems such as fujitsubo

his engine is far from stock, fully built 13:1 CR stage 2 cammed 2L b18c. So i wouldn't suggest anything smaller than 2.5" exhaust.
Aaron, put your car on a hoist, have someone sit inside and rev the car while you (or your dad) are underneath feeling/looking around for exhaust leaks.....i wanted to tell you to do that before i left on saturday.

If you get the Apexi WS2 go for the catback don't get the universal. I don't think the universal is as quiet as the catback system. I am using a universal WS2 with 2.25 Mandrel Bent\ High Flow cat\ Resonator and its still a bit to loud on highway drives. At idle its sweet though.

Moe...do u have the apexi ws2 on your sedan? i want one as well but i was told it has to be modded for the 99-00 sedan. I am not sure if i looked at the universal or the catback version. the part # i was told was #116-KH01.

The WS2 is really quiet and i like that...

Yeah I have it on my Sedan, and I think the part number you have is for the 96-00 SI\coupe so it would need a little modification for it to fit properly on a sedan but it shouldn't be anything a good exhaust shop can't do. Only thing is your going to have welds that aren't as good as from factory from Apexi. Since I have the universal the fitment is't really an issue as I already had custom piping put in.
