Engine differences between B- and H-series?

no need for yankee's, True, but you got *****'s up in here claiming they know a lot and don't know chit. so what's a noob coming into the scene to do. Just cause the car is fast does not mean it wasn't put together like ****. Only knowledgle people know the key points like B-16 civic described.

well speaking of VTEC in general...
Toyota has what they call the " VVTI "
same role as VTEC.... but when i drove the GTS Celica, the VVTI aka VTEC hit so late in the powerband, it seems my SIR will pull no problem on the GTS, but then again 6spd.... short gearing!! DAMN!

oh oh... i think loudsubz took that personally
I think we can all agree, that Honda's worse engine is still better than 95% of engines out there. And their worse engine is definitely NOT the H... it's just not their best, that's all.

Speaking of engines, the standard engine on the latest Corolla looks very good on paper, even better than Honda's D17A with VTEC! At 1.8L, the Corolla engine delivers 130hp with good torque (thanks to VVT-i). Best of all, even though it's 0.1L bigger than a D17A, it burns only 5.3L/100km of gas! That's even better than the D17A with the VTEC-E at some 5.8L/100km or something!
Maybe we should start swapping that engine into our Civics... hahah!! You prolly won't regret it at the gas prices of these days!

Just to keep the discussion going... Does anybody have any opinion on the new L-series engine from Honda in the Asian market? These are the L15 engines for the Honda City.... Apparently there is a version that uses i-DSI (Dual-Sequential Ignition; using two spark plugs per cylinder) and another that uses VTEC-E. Does anybody know anything about them?

haha no b i, I didn't take that personal at all i was just interested to know...
we get enough flack already that our engines eat oil, no biggie for me i just top it up once in awhile, but always puts a smile on my face in vtec
Steve: Id take you up on that offer about the coffee and engines but unfortunately my work doens't allow me to come out to wed meets, i get off work around 9:30 and need to have eats, then by that time its too late to do anything, specially drive 45 min
