Visual differences between 96-98 and 99-00

I am wondering if anyone knows the visual differences between a 96-98 aftermarket front bumper and a 99-00 aftermarket front bumper. Is there a way to tell if one is for one car and one is for the other without testing the bumper on the car? I am a little confused because i picked up my front bumper yesterday and the bumper had the grille area on the bumper but i believe its the wrong one because the info on it said 99-00 civic front bumper. Now I was looking around the net and I came across this picture and it says its for the 99-00 but it looks nothing like the bumper i got where the grille area is?

the bumper in that pic would be for my car ,a 99, almost the same excpet for the mesh and the curves at the bottom, but then again it is aftermarket.
what does the bumper you got look like?

The upper grille looks different, the one i got had a full grill with a piece that goes along the top. I thought the one in the picture would be for my car? Here is another example of the same bumper as the one posted above.(supposedly)

BTW these are not aftermarket oem style bumpers they are
C-west style bumpers. The bumper I got looks exactly like the one above so my guess is the first picture is a 96-98 bumper?

this is my front end the red lines are where the bumper stops and the yellow lines are the grill insert, that first bumper would fit my car nicely, the second would too maybe, but i think its just has the grill insert already built into it.

and sorry for the darkness of the pic

don't know if that pic helps any

look sto me that both the 98 and 99 bumpers are the same, both have the seperated grill inserts, i'd say the other one on that blue civic is pre-fab'd that way.
i'm not really an expert here but that would be my best guess

no for sure the 96-98 and 99-00 are not the same, the differences are subtle but enough that if u have the wrong bumper it wont fit right. I am hoping bruno or someone with a good knowledge of this stuff comes on cause maybe I had the right bumper with the wrong coding on it?

that blue car you posted has the grille molded into it so it looks like the bumper/grille are all one piece.... that might be confusing you...

The blue car has a c-west front bumper, it looks identical to the one that I received yesterday which was said to be for a 99-00 which isnt the one I need.

dude why didnt u ask me?
lol

k the only way to tell the difference between a aftermarket 98 and 99 front bumper would be the length of the space between the two posts (inbetween the grille area) and the thickness of the posts themselfs.

the grille area if its smaller and the posts seem thicker its a 98
if the grille area is a bit lenghty and the posts are skinnier its a 99

the bumper in ur first post is a 99/00
reason being the area of the grille (large)
both posts are thinner
and the way the headlight curves into the posts are sharper like on the 99 headlights.

Hhehehe you werent online today so I couldnt ask you. So the bumpers will look identical just have to make sure the inside grille part is slightly smaller and the headlight part is not so sharp. I wanna put the kit on now but i needa do a little filler priming and ****.
