distributor
sup all, i have a 94 hb and the car wont start. i checked the ignition module and it aint workin right so for a new distributor its 900 and a new module its like 200 and i can get a used distributor for 100. xcept the problem is the used dristributor is from a 93 civic. does it matter what engine the distributor comes out of? or does it have to be from the same engine as mine. i got that cx 75 hp crap box...newayz let me know asap. thanx

i was lookin into it when i had the same problem... you might be able to get away with just changing the ignitor coil... thats all i needed... $27 part
as for complete distributors... there all the same between Si, dx and cx... unsure about vx but i doubt you'd find one anyways... just make sure its from a 92-95 civic

Fist you should find the battery drain. How much is the drain? How do you know you have a drain? Because the battery goes dead? Do you have a multimeter? A multimeter can do alot for you. If you don't have one, buy one when C.T. has them for half price.

yea i got a meter. the batter is like 11.7 v when it should be 14? and like every time i crank the car after installin the new distributor the batter seems to start draining...when i shut it and go check it with a meter it goes back to 11.7 i dont have a jumper cable with me its in my sisters car and shes at work so i havne't tried that. its also a manual so i wanna try push startring the car. newayz any advice would help. i should check the alternator as well..this blows

The battery should only be at 14 volts when the car is running. 12.6v is the norm. Have you tried charging the battery? To check for drains, disconnect the neg. cable, put the meter on 10A, and connect one end of the meter to the cable, and the other to the battery. Whats the reading? That's your drain.
