d16y5 wtf is this motor

d16y5 how 2 disable the econamy bs??

Hi i have a d15y5 i was told that is is an econamy motor is this true?

I just had my engin swapped out at lucky star japan auto NEVER GO THERE EVER EVER

I had an si motor in there it was very powerfull. I duno what was wrong with it or what it had done the vtec would kick in at 3.5 and just power away i blew that up and was told the same motor was going back in from a 1997 ex.

I get the car and its guttless the vtec kicks in at 5.5 and its wimpy like mabie 1hp more.

Im not happy with this motor what wil change it back 2 a si.
A new head wil do that ?
I dont know what or how it wil be an econamy motor some different parts in the head ??

I was going 2 buy a new si head this is stock and put that on wil that make any difference?
thanks guys i realy need some help ere

2nd problem i just installed a sir mufler and the o2 sensor in the cat is in a different spot .
I plugged it in the plug was the same as my old mufler a stock ex mufler and im geting code 65 seckondary heated o2 sensor heater circuit fault (sensor 2) could this be they are wierd different i never checked the wires it was geting cold in the driveway and i was rushing ???or is the o2 sensor knackered?

3rd problem i had code 23 flashing ( knock sensor)

I had this replaced and im stil getting the code and on cold starput around 3.5rmp i can hear this nocking sound like a lifler is going.
Generany its only when it's cold bot when it warm's the noise stops could this be setting the sensor off its like a loud ticking noise only does it a 3000RPM wen the engin is cold ????

i found it pretty simple to understand I would recomend switching to an si head. seeing as thats where vtec is. It will get rid of your economy vtec crap

yea thats what i figures were it was i just wanted 2 be shure thats were the fuel and air goes in so i would think its that that controlls the power no ???
