Constant engine bog...

ever since i have owned my car the engine has been kinda tempermental. it, on occasion bogs down and it feels like there is no power until i really floor it then it gets back to normal...so the usual range of rpm for the bog is between 2500-4000 and above it seems alright, but for the past 2 days the engine hasn't stopped bogging, like i am so mad at it right now i don't know what the problem could be......... i replaced the air filter in case it isn't getting enough air since it is running rich and it did nothing, the plugs, wires, dis cap and fuel filter are all about 5 months old so they are still ok hopefully.......i heard it may be the timing and i need to get it checked with a timing light but i am not sure......what the hell could this be? oh and in case it makes a dif, the engine is a 95 b18b integra engine...

also, the engine mount on the car (drivers side one) looks like the bolt snapped off and it isn't aligned with the hole anymore so i dunno what to do to get that fixed? would i have to take the whole engine out to drill out the bottom half of the mount bolt? and how safe is it driving with a mount like that?

is there any way for me to control the amount of gas going into my engine without getting it tuned or is that the easiest way?

is it a bog or like a missfire? If its a missfire and it just seems like its not burning the fuel. It could be your distributor itself.

i don't get why it would be running rich. You are using a stock PR4 correct?
Pull the spark plugs out and see what they look like. Just b/c they're 5 months old doesn't mean they haven't fouled.
The only way to adjust the fuel is with a vafc or fuel pressure regulator, but i wouldn't use either of those. Tuning (custom made chip with crome), of course, is the best way to tune the fuel.

my engine was bogging around 0-3000, but more noticeably before 2500 rpm and then it seems all the sudden it runs perfectly and it takes off. i have it narrowed down to timing. If you timing is advanced you will pretty much move your power band around. So if it is advanced more than mine then that would be why its bogging to 4000rpm and after that it starts making power and takes off. Look at the dizzy and see if the top bolt is around the center or not. I don't know if it could be it and the timing would have to be way off to bog to 4k, but its worth a shot.

Swap distributors with a friend dude. Or just go ahead and test/replace your coil and ignitor. I recommend OEM honda parts only for ignition systems.

It definatly sounds like an ignition issue, if its a faulty componment on the veichle, tuning will not benift you in anyway.

i had a very similar problem to you, and it was moisture in the distributor making it act up. Im not saying you have mositure in but the symptoms of your issue point towards the distributor as well as mine.

I had a problem with a cycle shutting down like that, I would replace the plugs then it would work great for a week then the prob would return.... one day I was looking under the hood trouble shooting and noticed my vaccum hose leading to my pcv valve was collapsing.. I replaced the pcv, the hose and all the plugs, Its been working great since (about 6 months)... start with the basics, some times even tho a pcv valve rattles it can still be faulty, which causes gum build up in the valve cover, which eventually will foul your plugs.. (usually the driver side cycle first)

Otherwise test your ignitor/coil
