coilovers?????????

In term of coilover sleeves, pay a bit more and get yourself a set of Skunk2 or Ground Control. If these are too much, than just get a set of lowering springs (ie. H&R , Eibach, etc.). I would also suggest you change your shocks at the same time.

Dont go with R1s my friend had them and he wasn't at all happy with them. He later traded them for Eibachs. But ya if you have to get coilovers go with either GC or Skunks. I got my Skunks for $550 and Im sure GC sell for about $100 more.

is worth it to go with GC coils for 600+? WHy not just get some good springs and then shocks can wait a bit. GC's seize up and so do R1's. Why exactly was your friend not happy with them. The problem with springs is that once you buy them, your stuck at that height cant go lower. other way around with coils but u sacrifice ride quality.
bbarbulo- What do u think of used tanabe full coilovers for 800 cdn?

Haven't heard of GC seizing up before, guess it depends on how you take care of it, especially winter season. Reason why my buddy wasn't happy was cause ride sucked *** it was so stiff, and it was making so much noise.
