Im still not sure I understand what exactly the problem here is but if the car goes into gear with motor running then the clutch is likely ok. From what I gather you can shift into gear with the motor running so what exactly is the problem? Can you get the car to move with the motor running?

I put the car into gear but won't staul or move when I let go of the clutch and this is when the car is running. but when I put it into different gears for some reason the speedometer moves higher for every gear past 1.

unless the clutch is somehow staying permenatley engaged then I would say you either got a serious Tranny problem or maybe you snapped an axle.

I cant be sure if it is the clutch without actually seeing it in person and doing a full proper check. I dont see what difference it makes though, either way the car is ****ed for now so you are gonna have to tow it and get it into a shop.

Sounds like an axle to me, especially since the speedo is reading.
