Clutch question
#3
A properly used clutch should be good for like 350-400K kms, but most ppl don't know how to use a clutch. You shopping for a car? Oh yeah, and there is really no way to tell how much life is left in it unless it's already slipping.
I know of many cases where the clutch didn't even last 100K kms, so it depends.

No, i was just wondering because the dealership I took my car in to get servicing said that I may need to replace my clutch soon...so i was just wondering when is it 'normal' to have it replaced?

i bought my car with 185 000kms... and the clutch wasn't the greatest... but it went till 255 000kms at which point the release bearing seized or something catastophic (sp) and the clutch wouldn't lift off the flywheel... it was clutch less driving minus the sequential gear box
