So I can only get old B18B.... so if the engine is overhauled, would that consider a new engine?

the integra LS ran till 2001
so the engines are out there

What about a b20z?? they are still in production, plus they have more hp and more torque...2001crv and up If im correct...""

imported_JookSingKid 02-Sep-2003 06:01 PM

2001+ CRVs use a K24

imported_gatherer 02-Sep-2003 06:03 PM

a K24... now there's an engine I wish I could stuff under the hood of my car thats 2.4 liters of displacement thats more then the H22 wow that has got to be a torque monster

imported_BoOsTd 02-Sep-2003 09:24 PM

what does the b20z come out of then...? supposedly its more hp and torque than a b20b

both motors come out of a CRV, but one has a slightly more agressive cam profile so I understand :p

But someone who really knows the B20 should shout out :nods:

I was just thinking of stuffing a K24 into a 6th gen Civic, I dunno why people want the novelty of stuffing a K20A (RSX S motor). It's great and all having i-vtec, but **** man, if you have 2.4 litres of displacement in a platform as light as the 6th gen (currently only pre 2k1 generation model able to fit the motor that has been announced) it would completely rip a new hole in Civics with H22 swaps off the line :p Of course higher up in the rpm range the H22 would probably catch up with v-techhhhh :p

imported_BoOsTd 02-Sep-2003 09:47 PM

I bet those k24s put a big hole in the pocket:p It would be Ideal if the price was right.... Which is another reason why im still leaning towad a b20z I can pick one up for under a grand...

punkindrublic 03-Sep-2003 01:12 PM

those k24's only make 160 hp... the crv isn't a sports car... its an economy mini suv.... although i bet if you put on a rsx type r head onto it you'd see a new level in honda power production

imported_gatherer 03-Sep-2003 01:14 PM

Punk yes but how much torque do they produce?

punkindrublic 03-Sep-2003 01:19 PM

162 ft*lbs.

so its not really that much more then the h22 plus you get a solid 40 hp with the h22

Nova_Dust 03-Sep-2003 05:00 PM

I suppose it is not heavier then H22?

ryuujin 03-Sep-2003 11:00 PM

I think SuperStreet or Import Tuner is building a 2002 SiR K24vtec franky motor :p I can't wait to hear more about that :nods:

imported_BoOsTd 03-Sep-2003 11:16 PM

me too that will be nuts!!!! forsure buying that months

punkindrublic 04-Sep-2003 02:46 AM

i'm not to sure of its weight...

but in the uk they dont get the k24... but a k20 rather...150hp @ 6500... and 142 ft*lbs of torque...

usually europe gets better stuff then we do....

airfalcon 27-May-2004 12:31 AM

yeah there prety nice, but the b18 botem is stronger then the b20, you can always convert the b18 from a 1.8 L to a 2.0 or 2.1 and if you had a t3/t4 turbo on top with some good old nawz... you can pop a lot of people... so many have asked me how the b20 runs, and you know what, it's great, it's fantastic... but Id still go with a b18 just because it's a much stronger botem end...

rosenberg84 27-May-2004 10:41 AM

all hondas that i have ever drove to the governor die at 190km, a pontiac grand prix 2002 gets governed at 170km, Subaru Imprezza STI does not have a govenor and the 6 speed gear box gets you accross the 407 from 400 to 404 in about 10 minutes
