Question 48000km tune-up?

So my 48K km tune-up is due. Any ideas on where i should take my car? The honda dealership says they gotta do a Type 4 tune up which means something like $360!

I don't really have any suggestions on where to go, but if its not a dealer, make sure to get a receipt to prove you got what was needed done, in case of any warranty claims in the future.

Under warranty I would just take it to the dealership and get it out of the way...

Do it yourself. It's just a valve adjustment and some other easy things...it's like $50 worth of materials or something. I did it myself....never had to claim warranty though.

Don't do it! Don't take it to Formula for service. I went there for my first oil change, I brought a bottle of synthetic and they didn't put it in for me. They told me their "engineer" didn't recommend putting in synthetic before 20,000 km. (I had 6,000 km on it). That is total B.S. and I never took my car there again. Although that is where I bought 2 of my cars. For my maintenence, I usually go to Roadsport they have better hours.

Just my $0.02

Mark

By the way, I noticed your "Location". Let's get things clear, you are not located in me...my initials are M.Y. and I drive an SiR.

Is your car automatic? I don't remember if it recommended an ATF flush or not. If so, the dealer can technically decline warranty work without receipts.
Be nice to the dealer. Like on a previous thread, the dealer basically can make a call. I know some don't like the idea of "kissing ***" but I am not saying that, just don't be an "a$$Ho!e" that's all.

If there isn't anything that is related to the ATF, it shouldn't be a problem to get it covered under warranty.

You do KNOW that the type 4 service mostly just means CHECKING THE STUFF OUT. DOES NOT mean they will change it. Most of the stuff they just look at and then they tell you that this and that needs to be replaced and watever wat nots. Its a complete waste if you want you can do it yourself or take it somehwere else.
