I might be wrong in saying this but as a general rule, you can fit any honda/ Acura engine from the same gen period.

To an extent. Like the same gen B18 from an Integra, GSR would be the best one.

if you got the cash, you can have any engine adapt to your car

when i say any, i dont mean turbine engines, or electric motors found on RC cars...:D

not that i know much about engines yet...but i do know how to avoid drivng like a girl... and since i sell VW's and drive a civic with a B16 in it... id take my motor ove a VR6 anyday...however...if u are a VW fan and are comparing VW motors.... The 1.8T is a smoother...quicker...and more economical (fuel wise) engine than a VR6...and has (I think) higher low end power.... ur into fourth gear before u know what happened (and also hitting 140 on the speedo....oops) the VR6 is also HUGE dollars to swap...i had someone at the dealership looking to put a brand new VR6 in with tranny and all...23000!!!! holy smokes bat man...anyways im not really all that knowledgeable yet when it comes to motors... but i thought id add some input...

you sell cars?.....and you would put the 1.8t over the 6?......and i have seen VR's bush up into the hundreds before hitting 3rd gear so i don't know what you are talking about.

lemme tell ya something all these comparisons are ghey...VR6 out classes the b16 ask any one that has worked on both. it's like comparing a ohl player to an nhl player. yeah the ohl guy might fight better but the truth is that the pro make moore point and more money.

as for the introduction of the turbos in the conversation IT'S A CRAPPY ENGINE FOR A TURBO. look at the specs on it and then look at a turboed KA20 or a 3SGTE both of those would eat it alive...even the renouned b16 or VR6's would kill it if you slapped a turbo kit on either...

i think you should take a walk downto teh bay at your work and ask the mechanics that drive vw's what they think about your B16 vs theier VR6....then post the results

I also use to sell VWs, and i would agree wit her, i would say the 1.8T is more of a motor then the VR6, although the VR6 is more tourque... its a comparible engine, now throw the B16 into that mix, and i would take the VW over it anyday... the B16 might have 160HP, but if you dont have the tourque to get to the HP, then its usless... ive driven her car, its not fast, although im sure its faster then a sotck civic, ive driven teh VR6-6spd jetta, its fast, gobs of low end tourque, ive driven the 1.8T in both jetta and golf, low end, and when it hits boost, its not too bad, again fast car... but really non of these cars can even be compared, VR6-1.8T-B16, they are all built for diffrent purposes. ANd depending on who you talk to they are gonna say diffrent casue of that fact.. whateve fits your needs, ill say thoug honda needed to find more tourque in the 4cyl( b series, dont even get em going on Hseries) market, 111ft/lbs? bah... the suzukis i sell now havem ore then that.
