Alright guys, i measured the voltage across the alternator to the battery and the output is 14.29V, i have half a volt in loss.

Now i believe these losses are caused by the timing belt, and tensioner.. I will be replacing them.

If the cause of those losses is that then is it worth keeping this alternator ?

or
is it worth to get an irragi high output alternator ?

any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi,

How can the timing belt and tensioner cause .5 volt drop? Unless you mean the alt belt? Have you upgraded the wiring from the alt to the battery yet? I would say your .5 volt loss is from wiring. ie. poor + and a poor ground wire.

I would be more concerned about voltage from Battery + to the end of your + wire for the amps.

Man this is why I hate the new 14.4v spec. Complete trash imo.

yeah man sorry i meant the Alternator belt( i should have mentioned that these are stock, and have not been replaced i have 202k on the car), the belt could be slipping, or its not tight enough

well ive already upgraded the Big 3 with 4 gauge wiring, and i have an optima yellow cap deep cycle battery..

Thats why im pointing fingers at the belt, i know all my electrical connections are good..

hmmm
