b-series motors swap in with minimal effort. Enjoy your b16 and the great fuel mileage you'll get. I love my b16.
yeah, i just want a b, its simple and is a much better upgrade from a d. plus i can boost and build it later on down the road when cash is available im still not 100% getting this swap but its about 90% i just need to wait for him to get back to me about when i can come pick it up, and which shaft it needs.

I do love the b16, it's a great little motor. The only other 1.6L engine out there that can compete is the toyota 4age series.

But I have my reasons for building a replacement...hehe...

i got a new trade pending, the guy just has to find out when he can deliver it. i know i said i dont want to have anyother car around but this deal was too great to pass up. $1400 delivered. eg hatch, gutted for the track, white in colour, with black hood and bumper. front lip (looks like mugen). running b18c1 full swap with approx 100k on it, side markers, amber corners, aftermarket steering wheel, integra snowflake rims painted black, apparently lots of money spent on suspension and brakes. etc etc. so im going to have him deliver it this week, pull the motor, and anything else i need, then sell the other parts and scrap the body because i believe its all rusty

if you want a cheap swap for your civic go b16 or ls(b18b). b16 no torque for the life of it but when the rpms get up there it makes some ok top end power and its got VTAK!!! it will cost you like around 1000-1400 for the full swap. and then the ls(b18b) it's got decent torque for a stock honda but dont got that much hp but just keep a ls for a year and next year or w/e put a vtec head on it n you will be ballin lol. ls swaps go for like 500-1000.

okay so i got a few questions about the swap. first one to come up:

the ac belt tensioner was missing, can i use my d series one or do i need a b series tensioner?

on the other hand i did find some usefull info about the motor that i will need to know soon enough:

cooling system capacity - 4.5L
*manual* transmission capacity - 1.9L on overhaul and 1.8L on regular fluid change (in my case its an overhaul)
oil capacity including filter - 4L (like pretty much any honda )
firing order 1-3-4-2 (4 is dizzy side of engine, 1 is timing belt side)
dizzy order from top right corner going clockwise 1,3,4,2

This link shows the ac compressor, bracket and tensioner assembly for the d-series engine from a 94 civic: Part Detail

This link shows the same thing from a '00 civic SiR with B16A2 engine: Part Detail

They look completely different. Seems you'll have to find one specific for a b-series.
