after spending 460 just to get my car started and than having the mechanic tell me i need a new engine. obviously labour is more but 700 is reasonable to me for an engine. i got a quote for 400 local engines and 600 imported from japan at 50 000 or less cliks. im just lookin for sumthing other than the one i have. and i asked for suggestions not jokes.

if the block is fine you can do a mini-me said and done with your budget. do you have the d15b7 in there? you can do the D16z6 head swap for extra 20-ish hp and v-tec

A stock d16 or maybe a base b18/b20 should both be in your budget.

1) build your current motor
2) boost

but with a B20 you would need a B series transmission to go with it. Might out of the price range of $700.

IMO just get a SOHC ZC and call it day.

aright guys im like 2 weeks away from getting this engine so im not in a rush. but i saw this one at tigerjapaneese for 510 buks but its a d15b motor does my stock 95 civic which is stick need to have a D15B 5 Speed Transmissio, like does the engine have to be a b series too?

this is what i am thinking of getting

motor

http://www.tigerjapanese.com/index.p...mart&Itemid=26

transmission if i need one(currently have a stock transmission dont know what it is)

http://www.tigerjapanese.com/index.p...mart&Itemid=26

and for the motor the exhaust manifol rusted like that or painted :S and i i can get a shield for that right ?

that 1st one includes the tranny. you don't NEED the transmission, but the D15B tranny should provide better gear ratios over your stock tranny. so you can get the engine only, which was $490 on the site, but given it's like a $20 difference, I'd just go ahead and grab the low mileage tranny as well.

the exhaust is always like that, it's 'rust' but not really.... i mean there is nothing you can do about it except cover it with a heat shield.
