Engine Swap

So recently I purchased a 95 honda civic DX and have been only driving it for 2 weeks and the Engine is gone already. I was thinking about Putting in a Integra Type R engine... If i did that, which other parts would i need? Would i need everything under the hood to be new? I don't know much about cars, so any help is welcome! Thanks

in order to do a b-series swap (or Type-R in your case) in a 95 civic you'll need:

B-series engine/tranny complete with all accessories/sensors/manifolds
B-series (94-01 integra, any model) axles and half shaft
B-series (94-01 integra, any model) shifter linkages
B-series (94-01 integra, any model) engine mounts and torque mounts
B-series rad hoses from a 99-00 civic SiR (for a b16 or ITR swap)
you'll need to chip and add vtec to your current ECU and get a typeR program and to wire up the vtec.
you'll also need to change the plugs for the distributor to the OBD2 b-series style single plug and change the plug for the alternator to the OBD2 square style. If you want to use the typeR injectors you'll need to put on OBD2 style injector clips, or you can reuse the stock injectors from the 95 civic.

Or its as simple as contacting a vendor listed on here and having them do all of the work lol

Be prepared to spend around $4000 on all of the parts you need

I'd also recommend having the timing belt and water pump replaced while the engine is out, most places will charge substantially less to do the job while the engine is out of the car and its cheap peice of mind.

^95 is OBD1. It's much easier/cheaper to get a chipped OBD1 ecu and have it tuned or uploaded with a type R program. The B18C5 is OBD2 so you can't plug in the type R ecu into an OBD1 harness anyways.

His car's obd1. Why would you bother when you can chip a p28/p06 and get any custom basemap you want put on it?

Yup exactly, dont need to deal with secondary o2 sensors, new harness etc...

IMO itr swap is a waste...search the forum and read a little, there were many arguments about this swap
