Engine started once, died and won't start

I dropped by my storage area where I'm keeping my 94 Civic CX for the summer. I had not started the car since late March/April. I went to fire it up, it started right away but IMMEDIATELY died. I could not start it again, just kept cranking (although the crank sounded a little funny).

I THINK I heard the fuel pump whirring (not 100% confirmed), but the engine goes through it's check up and the engine light turns off (with a click). It then cranks but never catches. I haven't tried bump starting it...

It's been stored underground, so def not harsh conditions. Is it possible the fuel is stale? I've left my other car over winter and fired it right up, but my other car uses 91 octane... Is it possible that 87 octane gas becomes useless w/o stabilizer in just 3-4 months?

Any suggestions on what it may be? I'm trying to avoid towing it to my house to fix it (And as you can imagine, I have limited stuff available at the storage area)

Shouldn't be a battery --- It has a brand new battery replaced this winter. When the car is stored there's pretty much nothing that draws power in this car (It's a base CX with power-nada).

It started up the first time I tried but only for half a second than the RPMs dropped to 0 and I couldn't get it to catch anymore (It just cranks).

I'll try to jump it with my other car and see what happens... Assuming the battery is good, any likely characteristics? (Starts once, never again...)

i had a similar problem, i started it and then it died and then just kept cranking but not starting. Check if your getting a spark from your plugs?

it sounds funny? maybe you snapped the timing belt. I would check for fuel and spark first.

In case anyone was curious, the gas went bad... I usually store another car that takes 91 premium gas and by the time I start it, it probably ends up 87 or something... With the Civic, it was 87 to start .... All I did was add fuel stabilizer and 94 octane from a Jerry can... After about 5 minutes of cranking it started right up and ran normally....
