Engine is royally f*cked -
Was on the onramp yesterday going into second, I ran it up to 6 thousand RPM and went on my way headed to scarborough. When I finally got off the highway, I started hearing an extreme ticking if you will. Parked the car to pick up my girlfriend. Finally get back on the highway and without notice the car dies. No clue it was dead until I went to hit the gas and there was no power no rpm nothing the car turned off. Get it started again and it wouldnt hold any rpms up til 4 thousand. Anything less it would bog out and die. I got it going to try and get off the highway. 4th and 5th had no power. I had to keep it in 3rd until she finally gave out. Heard a klunk and smash and she died. towed it back, let it sit for a day and now it will start but it sounds like a jackhammer. Sounds like a piston maybe? Need some help, anyone!

Found a d15 vtec @ jdmengineland. Not sure if i shuold be attempting an engine install on my own w/o the tools necessary to get the job done. I was looking at hivelocity but they're too far to have the car towed there and back to toronto

It sucks when towing is like half the cost of the engine & install!
What neighborhood are you in? I'm sure there's at least one recommendable garage within a reasonable distance. TCC will come to the rescue and save you $$$

All you really need is a 32mm and a good breaker bar. If you can take the axle nuts out, the rest should be easy. I just did a swap on a prelude, other than axle nuts we used 10mm/12mm/14mm/15mm/17mm/19mm which you probably have. I have an engine hoist that i could borrow, give me a 24 of beer and call it even :P

Either you come to us (the boys at Hivelocity) or a neighbouring shop in the GTA, it definitely pays off to have a professional do the swap.
Our number 1 money maker, is fixing hacked up swaps believe it or not. A lot of people think they can do swaps, but really have no clue what to do when it doesn't run right.
