ek wont start

hey guys so today i was teaching my friend how to drive standard on my car and 5 minutes he turned off the car so then after that i walked over to the driver's seat to start it but i woudnt everything was fine until i tried to crank the motor ps its a d16y7 so then my friend came by and boosted the car so then it started right up normally its just that it was revving too low and lights were dimming a bit
so now everytime i want to start the car after i turn it off i have to get someone to boost but its running its fine....

im thinking its either a bad ground or a bad battery what do u guys think??

it could be many things, a bad ground, loose batt connections, a very corroded ground wire/cable on your batt or on your alternator which charges your batt. my advise is to check the voltage at your batt with the car running. it should read higher then 12v. but not higher then 14.8v. basically inbetween both of these number. if its lower at your batt then it is at your alternator , than your batt maybe in need of replacement. remember though check the simple things first like the connections. you'll need a multimeter, if you don't find loose connections. you buy one at crappy tire. good luck. you should also invest in a manual too. you buy that at canadian tire as well.

if the alternator is a problem woudnt the car die while im driving the starter is relatively new i bought it last summer and all the wires seem pretty tight im thinking possibly the battery or but my though on that is shoudnt i have seen earlier signs of it dying...or it could be that the rain is messing with my electricals....

Possibly the battery. If it is the alternator an easy way to test is start the car, take off the negative lead on the battery and if its stays running, the alternator is fine. If it dies, you need an alternator. If you do need one, pm me, I have one.

If its that random def check ur connections. Grounds, plugs, etc. Although it is looking like you'll need a new battery.

start the car and put a multi meter on the two terminals of the battery...if it's reading below about 12.5V your alternator is shot.

I've had the same problems and it was the ground from frame to tranny, i changed it and never had a problem since.
Try that and let me know
