ls/vtec swap wont turn over, wont return key, 5spd conversion problems?

The car is a 1992 Integra...
Recently I;ve been helping a friend do an ls/vtec swap. B18B block and P72 head.
Anyhow, his car was originally a GS - auto.
So we converted it to 5 spd using all the mounts, pedals, intermediate shaft bla bla. Thats all fine and dandy.
Now, today we try to turn her over and we get nothing. The key wont come out of the ignition unless we disconnect the battery.
The only logical problem is that when we removed the auto ****, we may have left it in drive or reverse so the car still for some reason thinks its in drive or reverse so it wont let the key go.
Also, the motor wont turn over at all, no click no nothing. We tried a new battery and nothing.
We figure we have to jump a plug by the console to make it think it's in park.
Which at the same time makes no sense because we removed the auto control unit from the area where the clutch pedal sits in.
We're ready to go and this is the only thing holding us back.
If anyone has any information it would be grealt appreciated.
Thanks alot.
Dom

Auto To manual :
Wiring: On the shifter for the auto transmission, you will see a 14-wire plug. Cut the plug from the auto shifter assembly, and leave about 5 inches of wire.
Looking at the plug, the positions are (left to right) (top row) 8 (unused and blank from factory),9,10,11,12,13,14 and (bottom row) 1,2,3,4,5,6,7. Starter (top) Sensor: There are two heavy gauge wires (position #10 and position #11). Connect these two wires to the top sensor (clutch interlock switch) on the clutch pedal assembly. This will only allow the car to start when the clutch pedal is engaged. In other words, everytime you press the clutch you will close the circuit.
Its the huge plug under your shifter. Splice the 2 biggets black wires and you will have already bypassed your clutch switch .

Cruise Control (bottom) Sensor: The bottom switch is your cruise control disable switch. Run two wires from the switch: connect one to the position #1 (black) and the other to #9 (pink). Everytime you press the clutch pedal, the cruise controll will disable.

Reverse Lights: Look at the plug you used on the engine wiring harness to hook up to your reverse sensor on the manual transmission. Run two wires from this switch to the yellow wire and a green wire with black stripe (positions 3 and 4) at the big plug that you cut off from the auto shifter. Now your reverse lights should work.
