I am in the middle of replacing a motor in an '02 LX non-vtec...I purchased an engine knowing everything should match up not quite sure about the year of the engine, but same all I know is its from 01-05 civic non vtec...I am now at the part were I use my existing harness and hook up all the connections...I get to a part that isn't on my old engine...after a few minutes of research, I find out it is my EGR...A little more research and I find that it is only found on the 01-03 VTEC's and all the 04-05 models...

My question is: Since my preexisting engine did not have this, and my new engine does...Do I have to find a way to connect it...or can I leave the electrical connection missing...

Please Help...

Should be able to leave it unplugged and not have any issues, as long as it's always closed off.

ya I was gunna say, anytime i've ever done a swap on the 01-05 civics the new engine comes with an EGR and since i'm re-using the stock ECU which doesn't use an EGR valve I leave the EGR unplugged and everything is fine.
