Car won't start right after its shut off

I have a b20b motor with a turbo setup. The car was starting fine however, now when i shut it off after letting it idle for a minute or 2, it doesn't start the engine cranks but it seems like its not getting gas, and i smell gas. If i wait about 10 min the car will start again.

Any ideas what this could be, my guesses are fuel filter, inejectors, fuel pump or a vaccum leak i haven't had a chance to check yet. I do not have any fuel management system or regulator. I just recently got this car as it is. It is also burning pretty rich.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated

If you're cranking to the point you're smelling gas and its still not starting, you're flooding the engine and therefore id look for your problem elsewhere...like the ignition system.

Are your spark plugs fouled? How's the ICM or coil? Its very possible its a problem with your distributor since the car stops working once it gets some heat in it, so if I were you I would check the plugs/wires/cap/rotor/distributor. See if you're getting spark and go from there.

The problem could be that the car is not fully set up. You say you don't have fuel management or regulator? What ECU are you running, and has it been properly tuned? If you think there might be some items missing from the set-up contact Chris or Zeeman, and they can help you out.

Sounds like a tuning issue. What ecu are you running this car off of?

It propbably has not been set up for the new injecotrs, fuel pressure, ignition timing and cranking/starting fuel.

Tuning will be the next step and i would not be driving the car in that condition. Overfueling such as this can dillute the oil, wash the cylinder walls, damage 02 sensors and catalytic converters.

I highly recommend you have the car tuned before doing damage.

I guess i should ask how long has the car been running untuned? During cold start more fuel is wanted because of poor atomoization when the engine is not at operating temperature. If you try to restart the car when its being overfueled you can foul the plugs and flood the cylinders.

The reason it may want to fire up after is the left over fuel begins to vapour and makes it easy to start.

As i said before i highly recommend the car be tuned.
