b16a1 into 93 integra
I have a 1993 integra just wondering if it is obd0 or obd1?
am i able to use the b series mounts i have in the car to put my b16 into it? and also would there be any real wiring challenges?
thanks

its obd1. If you put an obd1 b16 into it, it'll be plug and play. Yes you can re-use the stock mounts, axles and shifter linkages that came with the car. You can also just have your ecu chipped/modded for vtec and setup with a b16 program on the chip.

no, its not that simple.
Using an obd0 engine in an obd1 car can be done, with a few mods.
First of all the obd0 distributor will NOT work with an obd1 ecu, converting down to obd0 would be rediculous, so your options are get and obd1 or obd2 dizzy. Either will work, but the obd2 dizzy will require modifying the dizzy plugs to connect to an obd1 engine harness.
The obd0 fuel injectors will require you using a resistor box. Wiring up a resistor box is simple on an obd1 car and can be done so without modifying the original wiring harness at all. OR you can re-use the obd1 injectors from your old engine....they're 240cc's just like the b16 injectors. OR you can get obd1 b16 injectors if you don't have the old stock ones.
The conversion harnesses are used to convert the ECU to a different generation ECU, not so you can put a different engine in your car. You'd use an obd2-obd1 conversion harness in an 97 civic to use an obd1 ecu in your car. This is done b/c the obd1 ecus can be chipped/modified whereas the obd2 ecus can't. Same with converting up to obd1 from obd0. The obd0 ecus can be chipped/modded, but the software you use to program the chip is garbage compared to whats available for obd1 ecus.
If you have an obd1 ecu running your car, it can basically run any engine combination you would put into your car (except k-series) by chipping/modding it and running the apropriate program on the chip.
