Advice please TYPE R Valve springs ?

OK new member take it easy on me .......
Allright i own a 2000 b16a2 it has buddy club cams pullys header not sure what ecu but it isnot stock, ported and polished,

Now my question: I have this anoying Valve slap its like a ticking time bomb and was told i needid type R valve springs
A: becasue they are a heavier compression rate so ill get rid of the slap?
B: becasue there is no ( adjustment ?) on this motor for the valves.

also if anyone knows of a good a trusted shop would be great.....

i have a GSR head soon to be introduced to the engine and em installing type R (new springs )
please give me your opinons thank you..

Give it a little time. There are many more people are on the forum during the day with the knowledge to help, and you'll more than likely receive some replies.

What stage are the cams? If they are stage 3 then you will be okay with the B16 valve springs. You might just need to do a valve adjustment to get rid of the tick sound. As for shops/mechanics contact Chris V2 or Zeeman, they know their stuff and do great work.

You can adjust the valves on that motor. I have a B16 and did mine this summer and did my buddies GSR as well. Check this link out Adjusting Valves with Honda's Tool. Where are you located? I might be able to help you out with the valve adjustment. Chris and Zeenman work out of Oakville, just look up their names in the the search bar and hit them up with a PM.

I can do the valve adjustment for you the week after next if you want. I could come to your place and do it since it best to do it with the motor cold to get the proper clearance.

changing your valve springs will not help with the valve lash you state you are haveing. Eveery so often you will have to have your valve lash adjusted and any shop can do it, doesnt cost much. Duel springs will ony help with raising the rpms, or if you have a higher lobe cam but only to a point. I would not put type r valve springs with a aftermarket cam. Stock honda cams ok, but not aftermarket. The day you buy aftermarket cams buy the springs for like another $100 cuase the cam profie may be to much for honda valve springs.

hey milano for that idleing up problem at lights.. sounds like i used to have the same thing ... just try loosening the 2 torx screws that hold the throttle position sensor on the throttle body and adjust it a few degrees either way while the engine is running.... it had nothing to do with my idle control valve

it worked for me but its just a thought
