Insurance Company Help/Advice Please.. anyone?

Hi guys i am currently having trouble finding an insurance company to grant

me a policy on my 91 civic.. this car is not my daily driver as i jus want to

use it for track for a few months of the year.. All the companies i called

(statefarm, Lombard, Bel-air-direct etc.) all quoted me policies for "yearly"

and i have to pay $2400-3500 a year cuz i am the principal driver (i'm

currently 22yrs old). I don't want to pay yearly so i am asking if anyone

knows any insurance broker or company that lets u pay month by month or

only those certain months during the year that would be great. Thanks

As far as I know, you have 6 months or a year as your options.

i dunno why you have trouble with this. it's simple. you take insurance (fire and theft ~ roughly $100 a year or so), and then when you want to drive it, you call your insurance company and tell them when/how long you want full coverage for.

there are nuff ppl out here with seasonal cars, only diff is we pay fire and theft the rest of the year, but that's about $100 per year and we only pay full coverage for the time the car is on the road.

gas plus truck and trailer rental would likely cost about the same as insurance for the year w/ what i recommended. you don't wanna be the guy always borrowing your buddy's truck, esp on long weekends which are big track days as well as big camping days (so ur buddy will likely need his truck).

I'm with statefarm and do the same thing bbarbulo said. I pay for full coverage during the spring and summer and pay like $6 a month during the winter for fire and theft. Just call em up and they do the change immediately.
