HID lights BANNED by DOT
IT's my undestanding that as of Aug 13th any further sale of HID retrofit kits will be BANNED in the USA... if you are getting a kit or plan on getting one soon, wait a little and buy it right before as I think many many places will try to blow out their inventory before it's ILLEGAL to sell them altogether. Just a heads up to make sure no one pays too much. Personally, I've been eyeing this Hella Micro HID Driving Lamp, and stick the whole thing inside the stock Civic housing... but they are like $450... EACH.... USD So, $900 USD... oh crap that seems like too much for headlights

This is something I heard from my Protege buddy... I never had any interest in an HID retrofit kit really, so I'm not current on these prices. I suggest e-bay being the best place to pick up a set of these for cheap, the market should be flooding with them shortly.
There is a way around this issue, that is to use HID DRIVING lamps... similar to fog lights, but tuned for driving. Mucho dinero!!

On the way into work tonight a WRX was coming up behind me with HID's and talk about blinding. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think they have OEM HID's?

daquel... yes, JDM and the STI Rally lights are HID.
Punk, yes you can... that's a good way to do it, but heat buildup may be a concern
SiR Racer, yes and no... driving lights INSIDE the stock housing since I already have OEM fogs, so 2 sets of "fogs" would be plain ghey... one yellow light, the other pure white... plus stock lights, that would be... wrong.
