DOT 3 vs DOT 4

Heard DOT 4 has a higher boiling point. Is there any other benifit to using DOT 4 besides that?

I don't think I've ever boiled DOT 3 on the street.

they're talking about brake fluid

the higher the DOT generally means a higher boiling point, thus meaning less brake fade under hard braking conditions

Once you get into DOT 5 you usually have to change the brake lines to stainless steel or something that will be able to withstand the heat..

So if I haven't experienced fluid boiling over than is there any other performance improvment in upgrading?

dunno, what are the compression ratings on 3 and 4??
if one has a greater compression point then it'll be more effective when really laying into the brakes..(hydraulic power..)

and ya KSR is right on the money..
stainless!!
but it's not that expensive

dot 4 doesnt soak up as much moistuire as dot 3 and therefore doesnt rust the brake linbes from the inside out as quick.
