Emergency!! Help!

Emergency!! Help!

hey guys i got a real problem .. last night at like 2 am.. what luck i have it started raining.. and i decided to go out to get a coffee.. when i opened the window.. it opened but the problem is that it wouldn't close.. it goes up half way and gets stuck in the middle. i tried spraying the thing with lub but it still woudlnt' go up.. its getting caught somewhere.. now my car is sitting outside with a bag for the window.. hope nothing gets stolen.. my stereo and everything is in there.. what seems to be the problem?? could i fix this thing myself or do i have to bring it to a mechanic??

my car is a 99 civic Si.. please someone help!!!!

Only way to find out what is wrong is to take your door apart. Shouldn't be too hard.

it seems that your window has been misplaced. probably caused by opening it when it's kind of frozen. the motor for the window is pretty strong so eventhough it's frozen it'll still open it. the only way to fix it is to open the door panel and rearrange the window in the correct position. you can probably go to some autoshop for 50 bucks.

yeah, sounds like a mis-alignment of some sort. pick up a haynes manual for $20. there is a pretty detailed chapter on how power windows work and what to do to repair problems. i'm going to start doing more repairs myself cuz i'm sick of grease monkies doing a crappy job and scratching the hell out of my car.

hey thanks guy. but i brought it to my mechanic and he fixed it.. cost me 50 bucks.. but thats aiight.. it was getting way too cold to drive with the window down!! hahaha

watching him do it.. i am kinda glad i did not attempt to do the job myself.. there was alot of work put into it..
