DIY Help - Bumper Falling Off

The hole in my rear quarter panel for the body trim clip to attach to has rusted off, and my bumper is starting to sag. What are my options to reattach the bumper?

I was thinking of drilling another hole. If I drill another hole further up the quarter panel, do I only need to prime the area to prevent more rusting?

Thanks.

primer alone pulls in moisture despite what people tell you use a rust paint and do it in three small coats or so around the area. Only other option is to cut that piece out an weld in anoter wich is the same shape so the bumper can clip into it wich is alot of work if the car is just a daily driver.

My car doesn't look like a beater, so I'll try a combination of L brackets, zip ties, and trim clips - no duct tape though!

Where can I find brackets that won't rust though?

I just got my from Home Depot and coated them with rust check from crappy. From what i remember I just used the small ones like really small, sometime crappy has them prepainted. L-Brackets and nut and bolt worked very well for me. Best of luck, let us know how it turns out, or if you have anymore questions.

You could also try plumpers strapping.

try the l bracket but if the car is still in good condition bondo the l bracket to the inside of the fender. might as well fix the rear quarter while your there. then paint it all.
