The POST article.......

The National Post had an article on saturday about the "import mod craze". Found it to be on "our" side when it comes to the hobby....(not like the STAR) It says that people that send the kinda cash that some car owners do, that it would not make sense for us to risk wrecking our cars by street racing.

There's a little mention about our club in the article too.

Zimbulidis guesses there are about 30 top-level teams, such as Toronto Civics and Team Illusion. More loosely knit groups adopt names as well; you'll see cars sporting stickers with handles like No Limitz or Kustom Obsessionz. (Zeds are very popular.)
at least we were mentioned first

Man, that's a long article, and it's entirely about a car that's...not really a sport compact... but it's good, positive exposure for sure. Can't knock that! The car is... not to my taste though.

Not bad considering most of the crap that the Star has been printing lately in the Wheels section. It seems the Star finds the worst letter it can to print in the Yourview section the last few weeks.

OMG that NEON IS SICK MAN I LIKE IT ALOT

this artical it really funny

"Is that legal? Does that cost a lot of money? And, How can that guy think he's cool when he's driving a 1989 Honda hatchback?"

"in 2001, of the movie The Fast and the Furious. The film focused on illegal drag racing, but was essentially a tuner-car **** movie."

"Some modifications, such as spoilers, are ostensibly designed to make your car go faster." LOL

"Then again, when you're cruising down College Street at 20 kilometers an hour, with Snoop Dogg thumping out of your speakers, your spoiler probably isn't doing much to increase your car's drag coefficient."

"the vehicular equivalent of plastic surgery. "

"Zimbulidis guesses there are about 30 top-level teams, such as Toronto Civics and Team Illusion"

the artical is to damn long for me to read lol

Good article. Kinda puts "us" in a positive light. And a good plug for the club.

something i found interesting, and would like to know more about..was the mentioning of that one guys car being "listed" with PACER..
wuss that all about??

Ali..after the press exposure in the past..if it meant keeping score i'd say more like COPS 50 - US maybe approaching 1
the paper is somewhat read, but probably no where near the circulation of say, the Sun?? so swaying of public opinion is on their side still, not ours.. we're still left to lead by example.. (and as it should be..)

tho KUDOS to the POST for attempting to relate our side of things

It was THE POST, and not THE STAR, that wrote that article.

As for THE STAR.........well..........

Remember, THE STAR also gives the cops a hard time.

I wonder if the people that write for THE STAR, remember what it's like to have a hobby that is enjoyable?

Probably not.

HEY STAR! Make your paper smaller in size..............like THE SUN. :working:

They also don't seem to have a sense of humour either.

"It's all about the love of the game," Adam says. "I think of it like those Mastercard commercials. A Dodge Neon: $15,000. Import auto parts: $2,500. The look on your face when I drive by: Priceless."

I know it was the POST, I just wanted to proclaim my disgust at the crap in the STAR lately.
