hah, another *GREAT* article

http://www.mississauga.com/mi/news/s...p-562126c.html

My fav quote from it:

"But one of the most dangerous elements of street racing -- the nitrous oxide that collects in the trunk of the vehicle -- often goes unnoticed. "

I guess I have NOS in my trunk, but dont even know it.

I've never seen a more ignorant and baised news article.

Thats what you get from the Mississauga News, which caters to the Mississauga Yuppies and their kids...

The Mississauga News. Basically, a rag. And a poorly-wriiten one, at that! Anybody with an ounce of intellect uses it to line thier garage during oil changes. It's published as an ad vehicle. That's it.

Look at the author LOUIE ROSELLA. Probably lives in Woodbridge and drives a J body or Camero....that's why he only mentions imports!

i like this quote....
Teenagers and young men bursting with testosterone across the city are modifying their Hondas, Toyotas and even pick-p trucks for street-racing purposes.
because we all know that in mississauga, no women race...

"To increase the speed of their vehicles, drivers are executing hazardous alterations that include lowering the body of their vehicles, placing vision-obstructing decals on the tops of windshields and pushing drivers' seats so far back they can barely see over the dashboard."

I guess that Sticker at the top of our widows does give us extra power.

http://www.ricecop.com/funstuff.php
Click on the rice cop calculator....
Also se if you can park like I did last night....
(by the way, thanks for all the people that said they would come early to help save a spot for our club. ) I was there aroun 6:30-7pm. The first car that showed up from our club, was at around 8-8:30pm!! I guess you guys don't care if we get pushed out of our parking lot.(I know we don't own it, but the way it's going, we will have no space to park soon. If it gets any worse, I won't be showing up there any more.)

Rosella, Louie
(Police/Fire) 905.273.8120
Give him a call and tell him what yoiu think of the articl...and remember to quote what he said.....

"To increase the speed of their vehicles, drivers are executing hazardous alterations that include lowering the body of their vehicles, placing vision-obstructing decals on the tops of windshields and pushing drivers' seats so far back they can barely see over the dashboard."

"Teenagers and young men bursting with testosterone across the city are modifying their Hondas, Toyotas and even pick-p trucks for street-racing purposes." (what about the accidents that happened resently with the BMW.....oh that right...me bad....it must have been a Honda in sheep clothing.)

""We do it in our own little areas and the crowds love it," said a Port Credit street racer who goes by the name Tony. " (What, no one from Sauga wanted to speak to this guy?)

"More recently, two Hondas racing in the Bristol and McLaughlin Rds. area at around 2 p.m. outwitted police as they weaved in and out of traffic to escape." (did anyone hear about this?)

"As many as 30 officers have been designated specifically to target street racers, typically males between 16 and 30." (isn't this simular to what Hiltler did in WW2? Singling out a certin age and sex?) yeah, I know, Hitler didn't drive a Honda, he drove a VW.

"In the last three-day street-racing blitz on the Canada Day long weekend, Peel officers laid 276 race-related charges, nabbing several speedsters who were travelling at speeds of 130 km/hour in a posted 80 km/hour zone." (I would like to see the break down of the kind of cars that were speeding.....they were prob. ALL Honda's. )

"But one of the most dangerous elements of street racing -- the nitrous oxide that collects in the trunk of the vehicle -- often goes unnoticed." (correct me if I'm wrong ,but how many of those cars that were involed on those accidents had NOS? NONE.)

All the contact #'s for these uinfored idiots are here.

Well I called and taked to him.
He's 24 and remembers getting harrased by the cops as well, when he used to go out cruising with his friends.

Told him that Most of the club agrees when it comes to cracking down on street racing,(did not tell him the clubs name), but not the way the police are going about it.

Told him there were members that were upset that the media only gets to see one side of the story, and they don't get to hear our side.
I asked if he wanted to give us a chance to voice our opinion.....He said he would love to speak to us to get our side of the story, but he would like to speak to the members that live in Sauga. (Sauga paper.....)

Said that a mon. or wed. woud be a good night to get together with him and vent.

He asked if I was part of this....(gave me the web site name.....I said no). http://www.tourc.ca/ This is where he got some of his info.....

Now, what I sugest is this. Since quite a few of our members live in Sauga, we should get together on a mon. night at HD like we have done in the past, so we can have our say. I know we would probably be the only car club there, so no morons from the "other" clubs will fuqk this up.
We would get a chance to say our peace and let them know that our club at least, applaud what the police are doing, just not the way they are doing it.

I gave him my #, and told him that I would be in touch with him.

It would be held this comming moday at the HD in Sauga.(If you have been on this board long enough, you would know where we meet. If you don't, too bad).
I would like some of the "Older" members, as well as the younger one to show up. I geuss that I would not have to tell you to behave. ie don't rev engines, squak tires....

So who would be interested in doing this?
(I will also try to get my "friend" to come along as well.)

Comments?.... sugestions?......

Now is your chance to do something, instead of just bitching and complaining, and then doing nothing.

I'm in. I don't think it's fair that all enthusiasts are getting pigeon-holed into this profile that the media insists on portraying. At night I see or hear more domestics and trucks racing around than imports. All that's happened recently is a movie has given attention to the public about the import scene and now the media's harping on it. Disgusting. I see more idiots with their 8 cylinder Detroit muscle doing dumb things on city streets than I do with people in the import scene. Why don't the cops cut down on them too? I would like an answer to that question.

I agree, it is time we stand up and show that we don't fit into the image the media portrays us to be like!
